The Housing Element of the General Plan provides both an analysis of the City’s housing needs and a set of policies and programs the City will implement to demonstrate that the City can accommodate its Regional Housing Needs Allocation for the eight-year planning period.
Housing Element Update Process
On December 10, 2020, the Draft Housing Element received conditional certification from the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). Conditional certification is verification from HCD that the Draft Housing Element meets the statutory requirements of State Housing Element Law. The Planning Commission will review the Draft Housing Element at its regular meeting scheduled for January 5, 2020. The Commission will consider a recommendation to the City Council for adoption of the Housing Element update.
