ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA – The City’s Community Development Department is pleased to offer an opportunity to local businesses to establish parklets for use as additional outdoor space during the COVID-19 pandemic and reopening process.
Parklets convert adjacent public parking spaces to a usable space for tables and chairs or other business uses. The City is offering to provide the concrete K-rails that will be necessary to create the parklets.
“We are pleased that we can provide this opportunity for businesses to help them get through this difficult time by opening up more space for them to conduct their business operations,” stated Acting Deputy City Manager and Community Development Director, Whitney McDonald.
Interested businesses should review the Parklet Information and Guidelines on the City’s website at www.arroyogrande.org and submit a permit application, also available on the City’s website, by August 7, 2020. This will enable the City to identify the total number and proposed locations for the K-rails. Applications received after this date may need to provide their own concrete barriers.
Completed applications may be emailed to John Benedetti at email@example.com.
