[ARCHIVED] Arroyo Grande Police Department Attends Hydrate Blue Event and Receives Grant from Walmart

Arroyo Grande Hydrate Blue event at Walmart

On Tuesday, August 20, 2019, between 10 am and 2 pm, the Arroyo Grande Walmart hosted the first "Hydrate Blue" event. The Arroyo Grande Police Department graciously received an entire pallet of bottled water along with ten (10) small ice chests for each of the Patrol vehicles so our officers can stay hydrated during their 12-hour shifts.

Additionally, Walmart granted the Arroyo Grande Police Department with a check for $5,000.  The money will be used for the annual Santa Cop program, which allows the Department to provide gifts to struggling families and a positive experience for children and their families during the holiday season.

Lastly, Walmart staff members sold hotdogs, chips and water at today's event and all proceeds will go to the San Luis Obispo Law Enforcement Assistance Foundation (SLO LEAF).  SLO LEAF provides immediate and temporary financial assistance to law enforcement agency personnel and their immediate families, who are currently employed or honorably retired from a San Luis Obispo County law enforcement agency, in a time of death, serious injury, critical illness or other catastrophic circumstances.

A special thank you to Walmart Store Manager, Shelly, and all of her staff for putting on this event and for all of the support provided to the Arroyo Grande Police Department and community!
