ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA – The public is invited to attend a public workshop regarding the Brisco-Halcyon Road Interchange Project on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 6 PM – 8 PM in the Arroyo Grande City Council Chambers (215 E Branch Street).
The City of Arroyo Grande Community Development Department and CalTrans will conduct the public workshop and the public will be able to review and provide input on the Project’s Environmental Assessment, Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration, and design alternatives.
The Project proposes modifications and improvements to the US 101 intersections at Brisco-Halcyon Road, East Grand Avenue, and/or Camino Mercado in the City of Arroyo Grande. The purpose of the project is to provide congestion relief, alleviate queuing, and improve the traffic operations of the regional and local street system in the vicinity of US 101 in the City of Arroyo Grande.
Two design alternatives are being considered for approval: Alternative 1 – Alternative 1 proposes closure of the NB US 101 on- and off-ramps at Brisco Road, modifications to the adjacent interchanges at Grand Avenue and Camino Mercado. Alternative 4C – Alternative 4C proposes closure of the NB on- and off-ramps at Brisco Road and modifications to the Grand Avenue interchange, and also proposes construction of new US 101 northbound on- and off-ramps and a new US 101 ramp/Grace Lane/West Branch Street intersection at an immediately adjacent location to replace the ramps being removed at Brisco Road. This intersection would include a single-lane roundabout. Alternative 4C would also construct new auxiliary lanes north of Grand Avenue and the new Grace Lane/West Branch Street intersections, a new Park and Ride Lot, and reconfiguration of the Grace Lane/Rodeo Drive intersection and to Camino Mercado.
The project report, Environmental Assessment and Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) are available for public review during regular business hours at the Community Development Department, 300 E. Branch Street, Arroyo Grande; the South County Library, 800 West Branch Street Arroyo Grande; Caltrans District 5, 50 Higuera Street, San Luis Obispo; and online at www.arroyogrande.org and www.dot.ca.gov/d5.
