YOUTH CLASSES FOR FALL 2017
The City of Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department is offering a variety of classes for youth now through January 2018. For more specific class information, go to www.arroyogrande.org/activities. *Most classes that have already begun can be prorated.*
LEGO CAMPS An experienced Lego instructor will guide your child into the world of Lego! Bring Minecraft to life using Lego parts and create your own Minecraft objects that have moving parts. Camps will take place January 8 - 12, from either 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. or 1 – 4 p.m. Class cost is $159 per week. Classes fill quickly, so sign up early!
CALIKIDS FITNESS This camp develops healthy minds and bodies with a program that focuses on the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children. Children aged 4 months to 5 years can have tons of fun as they build strength, balance, coordination, vestibular skills, agility and flexibility.
CHESS with DR. CHESS Come explore the game of chess with the experienced Dr. Chess! Your child will learn to practice the strategies and tactics necessary for success in the opening, middle game and end game. Classes take place Mondays, from 4 – 5:15 p.m.
KIDZ LOVE SOCCER A typical session experience includes age appropriate activities such as skill demonstrations, fun games and instructional scrimmages. Classes take place Thursdays, and times vary for each class. This class is for children aged 2.5 – 12, and participants are divided into classes by ages.
HAIRBRAIDING Learn new tips and creative techniques for braiding beautiful hair! Sign up with a partner (mom, dad or friend) and bring your favorite hair brush. Class will take place on October 11, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
HOLIDAY COOKIE BAKING AND DECORATING CLASS Join our childcare staff as we bake two different types of cookies and decorate pre-baked sugar cookies with frosting, sprinkles, and candy! Each child will bring home a platter full of delicious holiday treats. Class takes place on Sunday, December 17, 2017.
FALL YOGA & ART CLASS Introduce your child to yoga! This class blends yoga, music, art, literature, and appreciation of nature. Instructors, activities, and crafts promote body awareness, confidence, creativity, imagination and self-love. Classes take place on Thursdays for ages 4-9 years.
BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE TENNIS CLASS with Cindy Kullman This class is for players that have a low-moderate level of experience in tennis. A rally is not required, but for those who can rally, there will be opportunities for match-play. Classes take place Fridays, August 25 – September 29, from 4:45 – 5:30 p.m.
