[ARCHIVED] Storm Activity Update

City crews, along with the Five Cities Fire Authority and Arroyo Grande Police, continue to coordinate storm response efforts with PG&E. Efforts to restore power in certain areas of the City are ongoing. The Pike between Elm Street and Halcyon Road is still closed.  Crews on The Pike are working on power lines and poles and addressing downed trees and debris. Last evening, PG&E identified additional resources that would be needed to complete repairs.  Safety for the people working to restore power, as well as the effected residents, remain a top concern.  Four poles will be replaced today and the remaining trees issues are being addressed.  PG&E is bringing in additional crews and this project remains a high priority to restore power in the area.  The City is continuing to monitor conditions throughout the City.  More rain is expected this afternoon. To report any hazardous conditions in the public right of way (i.e., streets and sidewalks), please contact 473-5100.  To view power outages and sign up for electronic updates via cell phone or email, visit www.pge.com.
