The project consists of retrofitting the existing suspension bridge by replacing the existing rod hangers with new cable hangers, replacement of the existing wind cables with new cables and helical anchors, strengthening the existing abutments, installation of new back span cables and helical anchors, cleaning and painting the existing steel towers, disposing of lead paint, strengthening existing wood connections, and removal and repair of landscaping, decorative hardscape, curb and gutter, and HMA paving associated with the retrofit work.
