ARROYO GRANDE, CA - The City of Arroyo Grande’s Recreation Services Department is again sponsoring the popular youth wrestling club program for children ages 5 years through 8th grade. The Arroyo Grande Youth Wrestling Club is in its 37th year, and helps participants learn and compete in International Freestyle wrestling. Registration night will be held Monday, January 22nd from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Elm Street Community located at 1221 Ash Street, Arroyo Grande. Late sign-ups will be held at the Recreation Office, 1221 Ash Street. Practices for 7 years to 8th grade will be Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, February 15 – May 10 from 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. in the Arroyo Grande High School Wrestling Room. Practices for the 5 and 6 year-olds will be Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., February 15 – May 10 from 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. in the Arroyo Grande High School Wrestling Room. The cost is $45 for one child and $40 for each additional child in the same family. The fee includes secondary insurance, facility rental and t-shirt. There is also a $40 online registration fee required for participation in USA Wrestling tournaments. All tournaments are held on Saturdays on the road.
