This public comment period is an invitation to members of the community to present issues, thoughts, or suggestions on matters not scheduled on this agenda. Comments should be limited to those matters that are within the jurisdiction of the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Brown Act restricts the Commission from taking formal action on matters not published on the agenda.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Recommended Action: Approve the minutes of the December 19, 2016 meeting.

BUSINESS ITEMS

6.a.

CONSIDERATION OF BRISCO ROAD STRIPING, SIGNING AND SIGNAL TIMING MODIFICATIONS

Recommended Action: It is recommended that the Traffic Commission:
Receive traffic study and public input regarding vehicular traffic on Brisco Road between El Camino Real and West Branch Street including the intersection of Brisco Road and the northbound US 101 ramps;
Direct staff to: 
o Prepare plans and specifications to modify the pavement delineation, signage and signal timing to reflect providing two (2) through lanes in the northbound direction from south of El Camino Real to West Branch Street;
o Obtain Caltrans' approval for the work through the encroachment permit application process for work within the State right of way;
o Construct the project using City construction contract bidding procedures.  
6.b.

CONSIDERATION OF PARKING RESTRICTION ADJACENT TO 182 BRISCO ROAD

Recommended Action:  It is recommended that the Traffic Commission direct staff to restrict parking within 20 feet of the south side of the driveway located at 182 Brisco Road.

CONSIDERATION OF PARKING RESTRICTION ADJACENT TO 351 S. ELM STREET

Recommended Action:  It is recommended that the Traffic Commission deny this request.
